The honest answer to “how much is snow removal?” starts with another question: how big is your driveway? Size sets the base. After that, three choices move the number: season or per visit, how fast you want it done, and a couple of extras that only some homes need.
Every price on this page comes from the same price list as our pricing page and our checkout, so if a price changes, this page changes with it. All prices are before HST, which is 13% and shown as its own line.
The short answer
- Per visit: from $53.99 for a 1 car driveway to $237.99 for a 10 car, each time 5 cm or more falls.
- For the season: from $769.36 for a 1 car driveway on Winter Standard, with unlimited clearings from November 1 to April 15.
- A 2 car driveway, the standard double: $69.99 a visit, or $997.36 for the season on Winter Standard.
Every one of those prices covers the same four things: the driveway, the front path to your door, the city sidewalk in front of your home, and the windrow the city plow leaves across the end of the driveway, with standard rock salt on the driveway.
1. Driveway size sets the base
We price in half-car steps from 1 car to 10. The price follows the surface we clear, not the number of cars you own, so a double driveway with one car in it is still a 2 car.
| Driveway | Per visit | Winter Standard, whole season |
|---|---|---|
| 1 car | $53.99 | $769.36 |
| 2 car | $69.99 | $997.36 |
| 3 car | $85.99 | $1,225.36 |
| 4 car | $107.99 | $1,538.86 |
The half sizes and everything up to 10 car are on the pricing page. Not sure which you are? What size is my driveway? walks you through it in a minute, and the driveway size guide has pictures. You can also text a photo to 226-336-2077 and we’ll size it for free.
What doesn’t move the price: how deep the snowfall is, the time of day, or a weekend. We don’t surge.
2. Season or per visit
A season on Winter Standard costs the per-visit price times 15, less the plan’s 5% discount. That works out to 14.25 visits at every size. Have us clear more than 14 times this winter and the season was cheaper. Fewer, and per visit was.
Nobody can tell you how many 5 cm snowfalls the coming winter will bring, and we won’t pretend to. Think back to last winter and count the mornings the driveway really needed doing. We did the full arithmetic in Winter plan or pay per visit.
Two things the division leaves out. A Winter Plan includes unlimited ice control after freezing rain or light snow, which per visit doesn’t. And a season is one known number in October, whatever January does.
3. How fast you want it cleared
This is the biggest choice after size. All three Winter plans clear at the same 5 cm trigger. What changes is how soon after the snow stops, and the salt.
| Plan | 2 car, whole season | Usually cleared within | Salt |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winter Standard | $997.36 | 12 hours | Standard rock salt |
| Winter Complete | $1,312.06 | 8 hours | Your choice: pet-safe or treated |
| Winter Priority | $1,583.41 | 3 hours, first on the route | Your choice: pet-safe or treated |
Why faster costs more: a route is a list, and only a few driveways can be first on it. Priority means something only while that list stays short, so Priority spots are limited each winter. If you leave for work at 7 a.m., that is worth thinking about. If you work from home, Standard is usually plenty. Which salt suits your driveway is in pet-safe, treated or rock salt.
4. The extras some homes need
Most driveways need nothing else. Two kinds of property do.
- A side or back path, if the door everyone uses isn’t the front one: $75 a season for a path up to about 25 feet, $150 for a longer one or several paths.
- A corner lot. You have city sidewalk on two streets, and the plow can push road snow onto the side one. The side-street sidewalk is $105 a season for each started 10 m, or $7 a visit. If there’s no sidewalk on that side, or the city plows it, it’s nothing.
Why a lower quote can cost you more
When you compare quotes, compare what’s in them, not just the number.
- The trigger. A higher trigger means fewer visits, and the snowfalls under it are yours to shovel. Ask for it in centimetres.
- The sidewalk. Both cities give owners 24 hours to clear it. In Waterloo a first offence is a $100 fine plus cleanup costs. In Kitchener the city can clear it and add the cost to your tax bill. The details are in Kitchener’s 24-hour sidewalk rule and Waterloo’s snow rules.
- The windrow. Waterloo and Kitchener both leave it to the owner. If a quote doesn’t include it, the heaviest snow of the day is still yours.
- The hours. “After the storm” isn’t a number. Ask how many hours after the snow stops.
- HST. A price with the tax hidden inside it looks lower than it is next to one with HST on its own line. More in why we show HST separately.

Questions about price
Is HST included in these prices?
No. Every price here is before HST, and the 13% shows as its own line at checkout.
Do prices change by neighbourhood?
No. The price follows the driveway. We clear Kitchener and Waterloo, out to Mannheim, and not Cambridge. City detail is on our Kitchener and Waterloo pages.
Does a big storm cost more?
Not on a Winter Plan: the season is unlimited. On per visit, each clearing is charged at your driveway’s price, however deep the snow. A long storm can need more than one clearing, though, and on per visit each clearing counts as a visit.
What if I picked the wrong size?
We confirm the size on the first visit and put any change in writing before it goes on a bill.
