Pricing starts at $149 a yard, plus HST, with a half-yard minimum order. Every order adds a $110 delivery charge, and the smallest job runs $419 plus HST, delivery included.

Mulch prices by colour

All prices are per cubic yard, delivered and spread, plus HST. Half-yard minimum order.

Minimum job: $419 plus HST, delivery included. The $110 delivery charge is included when calculating the minimum. For example, two yards of Natural calculates to 2 x $149 + $110 delivery = $408. Because that is below the minimum, your price is $419 + $54.47 HST = $473.47 total.

Old mulch removal and bed prep: $45 per yard of new mulch, plus HST.

How many yards you need

One cubic yard covers about 160 square feet at 2 inches deep, or about 110 square feet at a thicker 3 inches. We confirm the exact yardage on site before anything gets unloaded, so you’re never guessing.

Why the price is real, not a range

Most mulch quotes are a mystery until the truck shows up. Ours is arithmetic: pick a colour, we measure or you estimate the beds, the yardage sets the price, and that’s the number you pay. In a lot of newer Kitchener-Waterloo subdivisions, what sits under the topsoil is packed clay, not the loose, layered soil mulch beds actually want, which is exactly why bed prep matters when a bed hasn’t been touched in a few years.

How it works

1. We confirm the yardage and colour on site before a wheelbarrow moves.
2. If you booked bed prep, old mulch and weeds come out and the bed gets raked level.
3. Mulch goes down 2 to 3 inches, pulled back a few inches from tree trunks and stems.
4. Driveway, walkway and lawn get blown clean.

FAQ

Do I have to remove the old mulch first? Not always. If last year’s layer has broken down and the bed is under about 2 inches deep, we mulch right over it. If it’s matted or already deep, it comes out first, that’s the $45 per yard bed prep line.

Which colour lasts longest? Dyed colours, black, brown and red, hold their look longer than natural, which fades to grey over a season.

Is HST included in these prices? No. Every price on this page is before HST. The 13% shows as its own line on your invoice.
