A single application is $150 plus HST; the 4-application season program is $499 plus HST. Ontario’s Cosmetic Pesticides Ban has restricted products like 2,4-D and glyphosate-type weed killers on residential lawns since April 2009, and we don’t use any of those, on any Waterloo lawn, under any package. That ban governs pesticides, not fertilizer; what actually makes our program organic is what’s in the tank, compost tea and worm castings, the same materials that go into a vegetable bed. The newer west-end streets, Laurelwood and Conservation Meadows, are usually thin on top and the first to dry out in July, so a feed there works best once the ground is opened up. The mature-canopy streets, Beechwood and Lincoln Heights, are shaded and root-bound instead, so a feed helps most alongside a shade-tolerant overseed.
